99 Bikes, Brookvale: 521 Pittwater Road, Brookvale, Australia
What: This is a Women’s only cycle event, encouraging local ladies to get out on their bikes! The goal of this event is to continue to grow the female presence in the cycle/triathlon community. The events are perfect for new or beginner members nervous about getting out on the road for the first time, those looking for some new training partners or experienced riders looking to give back to the community!
Where do I meet? Both rides will start cnr Alfred St and Pittwater Road (Brookvale Oval) – just across the road from our club sponsor 99bikes. You are encouraged to arrive 5min early to ensure you do not delay the group departing (plus you can use the time to meet some of your fellow riders!).
Who can come?: As part of the Her Sport Her Way participation program this ride is open to anyone interested in exploring participation in the November and December club races.
Please note, both these events are FREE but you are REQUIRED TO RSVP. This ensures we will have enough ride leaders to keep you safe.
Pace: Expected to be 20-25km/hr. Both rides are a non-drop ride, and numbers permitting may split into groups. You are expected to have basic bike skills (e.g. can stop at traffic lights, ride next to someone else)
Triathlon and cycling have traditionally been a male dominated arena. Warringah Triathlon Club is joining to movement to increase female participation across all skills levels and age groups! We will have a number of experienced ride leaders coming along, so bring your questions, they are more than willing to share their knowledge and experience!
*Please note both rides are weather and COVID sensitive. We will let participants know by 7pm the evening prior (at the latest) if the events will be postponed
